Training Program for PIM Sri Lanka Batch 8

Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka came for the 8th times to join a customized training program on “Strategic Management for Public Sectors” at MM FEB UGM. The batch which consisted of 40 participants and 2 training coordinators attended the training on June 24-26, 2019.

The opening ceremony held on June 24, 2019 was started with an opening remarks from Dr. T. Hani Handoko, Ph.D. as the Director of MM FEB UGM. Hani Handoko proudly introduced MM FEB UGM which was internationally re-accredited by the AACSB on that year. He added that MM FEB UGM kept on striving to provide high quality training program, especially for PIM, and was committed to create impactful and impressive learning processes.

 “We truly appreciate your trust for choosing us for the 8th times to arrange your training program. This well-mitten cooperation should be continued and improved in the future,” he said. Furthermore, he did hope the participants would manage to explore all concepts during their study and company visit while they immersed themselves in a cultural visit to Borobudur temple.

Next, Dilhan Virendra Goonetileke, the training coordinator of the training program, thanked the host university for always facilitating his visit. “Why did we choose to come to Indonesia? Since based on a research data, Indonesia will be one of the most prosperous country in the world by 2050,” explained Dilhan. He also mentioned the goals they wanted to achieve were to learn deeper on strategic planning, idea, and implementation of an organization which would be beneficial for all participants.

Besides learning theories from well-experienced lecturers in class, the participants visited PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur Prambanan Ratu Boko, Department of Industry and Trade of Sleman Regency, Jakarta Smart City, and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Jakarta.
