MBA FEB UGM Hosts Guest Lecture on “Environmental Impact Assessment” with No Gravity, Slovakia

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM) held a guest lecture titled “Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)” on November 6–7, 2025. The session was attended by students from the Sustainability Concentration, Batch 85, and featured two guest lecturers from No Gravity, Slovakia — Gabriel Adamek and Jozef Wallner.

This guest lecture was part of the MASUDEM Project (Master Study Programme in Sustainable Development and Management), an initiative supported by the European Union to strengthen sustainability education across partner universities.

Over the two-day session, the guest lecturers presented key concepts in Environmental Management, including environmental performance monitoring and improvement, corporate environmental responsibility, and the integration of environmental aspects into management systems. They also discussed the crucial role of environmental management in protecting natural resources, supporting economic and social progress, mitigating climate change impacts, and enhancing human well-being.

During the discussion, students explored how the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process contributes to sustainable development in Indonesia. Topics included environmental challenges such as deforestation, pollution from mining and palm oil processing, marine ecosystem degradation, and waste management in urban areas.

As part of the interactive learning process, students were tasked with designing EIA stages for two real-life cases in Indonesia: Highway Construction and New Textile Industry. Through this activity, students were encouraged to apply theoretical knowledge to practical contexts and develop greater awareness of the importance of environmental assessment in business decision-making.

This event reflects MBA FEB UGM’s commitment to integrating sustainability principles into management education while strengthening international collaboration networks through the MASUDEM Project.
