Company Visit of PIM Sri Lanka in Yogyakarta and Jakarta

In the series of training program for Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka in MM FEB UGM, the participants were invited to visit local companies and governmental offices in Indonesia, especially in Yogyakarta and Jakarta, to delve their management processes.

Accompanied by Bayu Sutikno, Ph.D. as the Deputy Director of MM FEB UGM, the participants went to the Department of Trade and Industry Sleman at Jalan Parasamya, Beran, Tridadi, Sleman, Yogyakarta on Wednesday January 31, 2018. They studied its organization structure, vision and mission, strategies in obtaining the mission, and problem solving of the strategies. Dra. Tri Endah Yitnani, M.Si. as the Head of the Department introduced various small and medium enterprises managed by her department which played role as the media of promoting handicrafts and original products from craftmen in Sleman District.

The participants continued their next visit to PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan dan Ratu Boko (PT TWC) in the meeting room of Boko Temple, Bokoharjo, Prambanan, Sleman, Yogyakarta. They were welcomed by Dr. Sahala Parlindungan Siahaan, or Ricky as he was usually called, as the Marketing Director of PT TWC. Ricky, explained the temples in Yogyakarta and Central Java, their events and attractions, their village economic centers, and a resort which was being developed by PT TWC as well as the multilateral tourism cooperation planning.

On the next day, the training participants headed to the Borobudur Temple. Some of them made use of the opportunity to pray in the temple area. In the afternoon, they departed to Jakarta to visit Jakarta Smart City (JSC) and PT Aino Indonesia.

Jakarta Smart City (JSC) was a favorite destination for the participants. JSC was an implementation of smart city concept which optimized information and communication technology. JSC was made to bring Jakarta which was categorized as a transitioning city to be more effective and efficient in facing challenges and problems with significant complexity. For an hour, Andhika and Yuri from JSC defined the making process of smart city system in Jakarta to the 42 training participants.

Then, the participants had the chance to visit PT Aino Indonesia (Aino). It had its representative office on the same building of MM FEB UGM Jakarta. Aino was an electronic payment solution provider for mass transportation, governmental service, education, and retail. The participants attentively paid their attention to the explanation from the Manager of Business Development Department of Aino who was also an alumnae of MM FEB UGM Batch Executive 20, Yuanda Bhima Fesida.
