Pre-Graduation Ceremony of Master in Management Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada for the period of April 2018 was conducted successfully.
There were more than 200 graduates which scored more than the previous periods. In addition to celebrating Kartini’s Day, it made MM FEB UGM choose to hold the ceremony in a special atmosphere by taking traditional Javanese theme. The Board of Directors and their staffs wore Javanese traditional costumes; men wore surjan and women took kebaya. Moreover, a beautiful collaboration from staffs and students performing a Sundanese traditional dance namely Ronggeng Midang dance added the splendour of the feast. Also, a collaboration from one of MM FEB UGM lecturers, Sahid Susilo Nugroho, M.Sc., Ph.D., and one of the graduates, Aziz Yuliyansyah, entertained the audience with harmonious songs.
Taking place in the back yard of MM FEB UGM, Prof. Eduardus Tandelilin, Ph.D. as the Director of MM FEB UGM Jakarta announced 11 cum laude graduates of the period. Rizkia Diar Damayanti, a student of Batch Regular 68 Yogyakarta, topped the rank with 3.95 GPA. In her speech, Rizkia thanked the Board of Directors, lecturers, academic supervisor, academicians, and other parties who had contributed their support and facilities during her study. She recalled her ups and downs, her friendship and togetherness, her struggle in fulfilling assignments, as well as her thesis completion in order to graduate.
“Given the chance to take Master degree in the best business school in Indonesia has been my pride and blessing. The learning process impresses me, and my friends, so much. During our study, our mindset is transformed, our knowledge is expanded, and our dreams are pushed higher. Both formal learning, which are lecturing sessions, and informal one, such as student club activities, are intended to develop us into professionals who are innovative and creative in being the most leading business solution giver,” said Rizkia.
At the end of her speech, Rizkia invited her fellow graduates to apply the knowledge for the sake of society expediency and being future leaders by participating in improving Indonesia.
The ceremony held on April 18, 2018 was continued with a speech from Haris Gunawan, the Finance Director of PT Wakita Karya (Persero) who was an alumnae of Batch Executive 20 Jakarta, in representing the alumni management. The Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada, Dr Eko Suwardi, M.Sc., also gave his speech and presented his Javanese song as his fondness of Indonesian culture, especially Javanese tradition.
