Human Resource Club MM FEB UGM, one of Academic Clubs in MMSA FEB UGM, hosted an Executive Series entitled “Millenial Leadership: Grow Up Our Potentials.”
Opening the Executive Series held on September 7, 2018, Dr. T. Hani Handoko, M.B.A. as the Director of MM FEB UGM Yogyakarta welcomed the audiences and believed that they would get much insight about successful leader by sharing experience from the speaker.
Acting as the moderator of the event was Bayu Sutikno, Cand.Merc., Ph.D., the Deputy Director of MM FEB UGM Yogyakarta. He introduced the speaker, Dr. Emil Elestianto Dardak, M.Sc. Emil Dardak was one of notorious inspirators as he achieved a remarkable performance during his assignment as Regent of Trenggalek. The man born in Jakarta 34 years ago gained his Doctoral Degree in one of reputable universities in Japan when he was only 21 years old.
Emil Dardak began his session by expressing his excitement for meeting the students of Universitas Gadjah Mada who would be the next business government leaders in Indonesia. “UGM has been one of the universities which plays a big role to bring me to my leadership in Trenggalek,” said Emil. Speaking about millenial leadership, he mentioned that the term millenial went to those who grew up when the information edge era happened. The generation critically lived during IT era where human beings started to use handphone, smartphone, and internet.
There were many questions from the audience such as tips on how millenial generation should lead those who came from the previous generation as well as dealing with fellow millenials and the strategy to leverage millenials to be more creative and innovative.
