One Day Marketing: Social Media Marketing Workshop

Marketing Club was one of Academic Clubs under the authority of MM Student Association FEB UGM. On October 27, 2018, the Club held a workshop on how to do an effective marketing through social media.

Bringing out the theme of “One Day Marketing: Social Media Marketing Workshop”, the Club invited a successful speaker mastering marketing issue, Hebbie Agus Kurnia. He was the CEO of luarsekolah.com, a private company operating in informal or alternative education. In addition, he was the Creative Director of Alpha Creative, a startup on website and graphic design.

The three hour workshop was opened by Bayu Sutikno, Cand.Merc., Ph.D. as the Deputy Director of MM FEB UGM Yogyakarta. Hebbie took the lead of the workshop by emphasizing the first step of being a good marketer i.e. grouping the market segments clearly to position the product in order to determine the product pricing. The aspects in grouping would be based on the age range, the issue and obstacle, the location, the passion or obsession, and the income. Hebbie mentioned that startup industry was not a simple one to develop as it had many components to maintain and survive.

In the end of the workshop, Hebbie shared the tricks to get more active followers who had the same passion and fondness of certain products or services to move closer to their target customers.
