MM FEB UGM Yogyakarta has succeeded in combining three groups from within its academic community, namely MMUGMDaily, MMSA UGM and Kafegama MM, who collaborated to hold the Festival of Friends’ Businesses on November 20-28 2020. This agenda was run successfully with a virtual implementation method.
Akbar Faisal, Chairman of MMUGMDaily, said that this virtual festival was held to inspire business people, especially students and alumni of MM FEB UGM, to continue advancing the businesses they were currently engaged in. “We have created a directory website to showcase our friends’ businesses, and this activity is also run as a form of support for the community to be able to continue their own businesses so that they are better known and the wider community become customers,” he said.
One hundred curated businesses, from various categories, such as Culinary, Fashion, Crafts, and Digital solutions, participated in this agenda. Visitors can browse existing businesses to shop with attractive offers.
This series of events was also enlivened by sharing experiences with business people and experts in their fields. There were three topics that were the focus of discussion during this sharing session: culinary, fashion, and hospitality businesses. Rizki Oktora, Head of SMB MMUGMDaily, said that these three categories have been a cause for concern for the past year and, in the midst of the pandemic, survival stories have become interesting. “Later, together, we will share about how these businesses innovate and survive,” he continued. This agenda was also well organized thanks to the collaboration with PT. Gama Information, an innovative and self-reliant company.
With this agenda, it is hoped that the wider community can learn more about the MM FEB UGM version of engaging in business, and it also hopes to invite business people to continue to innovate in all situations.
