To maintain relations with alumni, as well as develop the MM FEB UGM which is increasingly qualified globally, MM FEB UGM held a gathering with the theme “BOD greets Alumni”. To provide more opportunity for thousands of alumni to join this event, the activity was packaged into two sessions, on May 31, 2021, and June 3, 2021. After seeing many alumni were present from different batches, MM UGM plan to conduct this event regularly to strengthen relations with alumni.
Prof. Eduardus Tandelilin as Director of the MM FEB UGM Jakarta Campus and Dr. Amin Wibowo as the Director of the Yogyakarta Campus, in turn, provides the latest information on the development of MM FEB UGM both campuses. Tandelilin said, “We hope that campus relations with alumni will continue forever and we also want to see the alumni’s perspective on the MM FEB UGM compared to other business schools in the world, where last year MM FEB UGM was already included in the world business school rankings (QS World MBA Ranking) and how to stay known globally, then we must participate in various international events and MM FEB UGM will be globally known in the world”. “And alumni are still very much expected to support us,” said Tandelilin.
Amin also emphasized that the existence of alumni is very important, the program can develop rapidly from the strong relationship with alumni, and therefore cooperation with alumni must be maintained. “If MM FEB UGM is well known, then the Alumni will also get the best image and this encourage prospective students who want to study at MM FEB UGM,” explained Amin.
Bayu Sutikno as the Secretary of the MM FEB UGM Yogyakarta Campus also explained the various achievements so far, especially the curriculum, learning process, new facilities, and various activities that continue and involve the alumni. “Alumni are our Grand Ambassadors, that’s why there are more and more interested people want to study at MM FEB UGM, and we thank you all alumni,” said Bayu.
Prof. Indra Wijaya Kusuma as the Head of the UGM Quality Assurance Unit continued the session by explaining the quality assurance and global competitiveness of MM FEB UGM. “What is known from the university? The university of course well known by people with its reputation, and the achievement of the reputation can be done in various ways, including through international publications, accreditation, ranking, and cooperation,” he said. Indra believes that alumni are the most important stakeholders of higher education. “The voices of alumni must be heard as they are also the civitas-academics who bring UGM into excellence when they graduate and from alumni, we will get many best views on how to improve the quality at UGM,” he continued.
