The Executive Series was held once again as one of the mandatory LEAP agendas in the FEB UGM MBA Study Program last Friday (10/02/2023) via zoom. This Executive Series carries the theme of “Startups Strategy to Get Investment Funding from Venture Capital”. CEO of BNI Venture Capital, Eddi Danusaputro, was invited to be the speaker accompanied by I Wayan Nuka Lantara, Ph.D. as moderator. This Executive Series activity was attended by 547 students.
Director of MBA FEB UGM Study Program Yogyakarta Campus, Prof. Amin Wibowo, Ph.D., was also present to give a speech. “Thank you Mr. Eddi Danusaputro for coming to share his experience with all of us, he has more than 20 years of experience in various sectors and has invested heavily in various startups. We hope that we will get first-hand insight which we consider very good in providing exposure to real business after graduation.” Amin handed over souvenirs virtually to the speaker as a form of appreciation.
The moderator invited the speaker to start his presentation, “Today we are fortunate enough to be able to have a sharing and discussion session with a speaker who is also a FEB UGM alumni, with a very interesting topic, namely startup funding”. “For those who want to start a startup, today I will share the outline and how the funding is designed”, said Eddi. The aspects that must be considered in building a startup are explained by Eddi. “Research says that 95% of startups come to an end because they make something that doesn’t have a market, secondly because they run out of money, and thirdly because the team is not qualified. For this reason, the initial way to build a startup is to pay attention to the following things, namely the founder team, market potential, market competition, business concept, traction, and strategic fit”. Eddi also explained about how to choose a business model for students who were interested in building a startup business, how to amaze investors, and also how to build a strong founder team and staff.
