Lustrum Ke-7 MBA FEB UGM: “Nurturing The Future Leader & Sustainability”

The Master of Business Administration Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (MBA FEB UGM) has successfully held a Sarasehan and Fun Day as the peak event in the framework of the 7th Lustrum celebration on 1 & 2 July 2023. This event is an expression of gratitude for achievements which has been achieved and the rapid development of MBA FEB UGM to date.

In this series of 7th Lustrum events, the MBA FEB UGM Study Program held a Social Service on 26, 27, and 30 June 2023, which started with a pilgrimage to former administrators and lecturers who had passed away. Distribution of necessities to several orphanages and Qur’an shrines. It ended with free health check-up activities for the community around the MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta and Jakarta campuses.

Also, present at the Sarasehan and Alumni Gathering were representatives from the Management of the MM UGM Central Cafegama, the Deputy Deans of FEB UGM, and the MBA FEB UGM Management, which opened with the traditional Beksan Wayang Dance, and continued with remarks from Risto Samosir, M.M., as Chair of the Management KAFEGAMA-MM Center, Prof. Eduardus Tandelilin, Ph.D., as Director of MBA FEB UGM Jakarta Campus, and Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, Ph.D., as Deputy Dean of FEB for Research, Community Service, Cooperation and Alumni. “The role of Alumni in achieving the MBA FEB UGM is crucial, and we are ranked 72nd in the QS Global MBA University Rankings for Entrepreneurship and Alumni Outcomes. It is clear how important Alumni are to us,” said Tandelilin. The evening event closed with the presentation of souvenirs and a group photo.

Meanwhile, on July 2, 2023, the activities continued with a Fun Day event inviting the entire extended family and the MBA FEB UGM academic community. Bowo Setiyono, Ph.D., Deputy Director of MBA FEB UGM Jakarta Campus, delivered the opening remarks and was Chair of the 7th Lustrum. Don’t forget Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, also gave his speech and continued with a joint prayer led by Nur Fuadi.

After the thanksgiving session in the form of Tumpeng Cutting was carried out, which was followed by the Release of the Pigeons and Gunungan Grebeg, the event continued with the launching of the 9th Series of Company Management Cases in Indonesia, entitled “Business Beyond Boundaries: Internationalization Strategies, Processes, and Practices.” This book is a real commitment of MBA FEB UGM to reduce the gap between learning business management concepts and real managerial experience. Hopefully, these twelve cases, which the MBA FEB UGM Teaching Staff contributed, can be used as learning and discussion material in class to provide real problem-solving and business management decisions.

Furthermore, Book 4 Windu MBA FEB UGM was also launched. The book “Producing Business Leaders” was published by the MBA FEB UGM Study Program to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the MBA FEB UGM as the first MBA study program established by the government of the Republic of Indonesia. This book expresses appreciation to the founders and previous managers of the MBA FEB UGM, the teaching staff, educational staff, and alums who have made the MBA FEB UGM what it is today. This book tells the story of MBA FEB UGM’s journey in managing the study program over the past four years. This book also contains the story of the founding of MBA FEB UGM and the ups and downs in developing the study program until it became a reference for MBA education in the country. Hopefully, this book will encourage and inspire all readers to learn more about the MBA FEB UGM study program. The launching of the two books, published in Indonesian and English versions, was carried out symbolically by Amin Wibowo to the Dean of FEB UGM accompanied by the Deputy Dean and MBA FEB UGM Lecturer.
