The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM) in Yogyakarta, organized an Executive Series event on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Sukadji Ranuwihardjo MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta Auditorium. This event is one of the components of the Leadership Enhancement and Acceleration Program (LEAP), aimed at providing students with the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge from industry leaders. The focus of this particular session was on the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at PT. Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), presented by Ir. Gusrizal, M.Sc., Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PT. Pupuk Indonesia (Persero).
The session was opened by Rocky Adiguna, Ph.D., Deputy Director of MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta, and moderated by Anggraeni Pranandari, S.E., M.Sc. “Today, we are proud that Mr. Gusrizal has agreed to attend this Executive Series to share his story and experiences,” said Rocky. He also emphasized the importance of exposure to the experiences of industry leaders in the decision-making process, aligning with the vision and mission of the MBA FEB UGM program to develop strategic business leaders.
Ir. Gusrizal, M.Sc., shared insights into the steps taken by PT. Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) in implementing the ESG and SDGs concepts in its business activities. “Pupuk Indonesia has successfully implemented all 17 SDGs points outlined in the global agreement,” he stated. He also highlighted that the success was not limited to the main company but also extended to 5 out of its 10 subsidiary companies, which have also successfully incorporated ESG & SDGs values.
The participants, both physically present and attending virtually, enthusiastically posed insightful questions about the presented material. This event not only expanded the students’ knowledge but also strengthened the collaboration between academia and practitioners in the field of Sustainability Management.
