The Master of Business Administration program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM) Yogyakarta Campus hosted an Executive Series on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Sukadji Ranuwihardjo Auditorium. This event, part of the Leadership Enhancement and Acceleration Program (LEAP), was designed to provide students with direct insights from industry leaders.
The session, themed “TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY: What Does It Take to Operate the Indonesian Financial Market?”, featured a presentation by Ariestyo Reza Nurkharismaarif, M.Sc., CEO of PT. Antara ETP. Mr. Nurkharismaarif shared his expertise and perspectives on the financial sector with the attendees.
Prof. Amin Wibowo, S.E., M.B.A., Ph.D., the Director of MBA FEB UGM, inaugurated the event, with R. Muhammad Fajri, M.B.A., a Lecturer at FEB UGM, moderating the discussion. Prof. Amin emphasized the importance of dialogue in navigating business challenges and opportunities, stating, “Discussion is essential for understanding the complexities of the business landscape. Through it, we can develop clearer visions and more effective strategies for leading organizations.”
Ariestyo Reza Nurkharismaarif, M.Sc., provided his insights on the Indonesian financial market, noting, “There are various challenges and opportunities in the effort to digitize the financial market in Indonesia, with only 3% of interbank transactions conducted electronically and a still vast market potential to be harnessed.” He also advised students that transitions are opportunities for growth and reminded them that while change often brings discomfort, it is an essential part of the growth process needed for achieving success.
The enthusiastic participation of the students, who engaged with probing questions, underscored their keen interest. The event not only expanded the students’ horizons but also fortified the collaboration between academic institutions and industry practitioners in financial management.
