Over the past two weeks, students of the Research Methods in Concentration (RMiC) course in the Sustainability Management class, taught by Prof. Nurul Indarti, Sivilokonom., Cand.Merc., Ph.D., had the opportunity to learn directly from an international guest lecturer, Viktória Nagy from Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary. The sessions, held at the Master of Business Administration Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM), were designed to provide a multidisciplinary learning experience by integrating perspectives on sustainability, psychology, and participatory learning methods.
Throughout the sessions, students explored not only core topics in research methodology but also gained valuable insights into sustainability practices in Europe, particularly in Hungary. With Viktória’s academic background in psychology, she introduced a psychological approach to teaching and learning, focusing on effective strategies in higher education settings that emphasize collaboration and engagement.
The classes were conducted in a dynamic and interactive format. Before each session began, students were arranged in a circle formation to express their expectations for the RMiC course. Viktória then delivered the material through classical teaching, supported by group discussions and assignments. Each class concluded with a reflective session where students provided feedback and evaluated their learning experiences.
This guest lecture series was part of the Master Studies in Sustainable Development and Management (MASUDEM) program, funded by CBHE Erasmus+, European Union. It exemplifies MBA FEB UGM’s ongoing commitment to enriching student learning through international academic collaboration and cross-cultural, interdisciplinary approaches.
With active student participation and the enriching contribution of guest lecturer Viktória Nagy, this program aims to deepen the students’ understanding of research methodology and its application in sustainability contexts—making it increasingly relevant to today’s global challenges.
