The Master of Business Administration Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM) Yogyakarta Campus, organized the Business Fun Games (BFG) for new students of the MBA-IMBA program (Batch 86) and SEMBA program (Batch 46) on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Leadership Hall of MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta Campus.
This event aimed to foster creativity and develop students’ leadership qualities through interactive games. BFG is an integral part of the Leadership Enhancement and Acceleration Program (LEAP), a non-credit compulsory course that students must attend from the Pre-MBA stage through several subsequent semesters. The program is designed to help students understand their personal characteristics so they can be optimally developed for future leadership roles.
The event commenced with a welcoming speech from the Director of the MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta Campus, Prof. Amin Wibowo, Ph.D. “The BFG activity is designed to build students’ psychological readiness and enhance their cognitive and psychomotor skills so they can uphold the core pillars of MBA FEB UGM: integrity, professionalism, objectivity, academic freedom, and social concern,” stated Prof. Amin.
The BFG activities were facilitated by a team of faculty members, including Rr Tur Nastiti, M.Si., Ph.D., Sumaryono, M.Sc., Ph.D., Drs. Haryanto, M.Si., Psychologist, and Indrianingsih, S.Psi. Various leadership games were conducted, with students randomly assigned into groups. Besides honing teamwork and leadership skills, this session also served as an effective way for students to connect with their peers and adapt to their new environment at MBA FEB UGM.
Rr Tur Nastiti, M.Si., Ph.D., one of the facilitator lecturers and faculty members of FEB UGM, emphasized that the purpose of the BFG activity was to equip students with FEB UGM’s core values while introducing business concepts through interactive games. “We hope that our new students remain enthusiastic about learning, internalizing FEB UGM’s values, and applying business management knowledge to the enterprises they will run,” she added.
Through the BFG activities, MBA FEB UGM students are expected to be better prepared to face both academic and professional challenges. This initiative is more than just a game—it serves as an educational platform that integrates leadership theory and practice in an engaging and enjoyable manner. The values gained from this experience are expected to be valuable assets for students as they embark on their academic and professional journeys in the future.
