MBA FEB UGM Holds Leadership Camp to Shape Resilient and Integrity-Driven Leaders

As part of its commitment to shaping future leaders with resilience and integrity, the Master of Business Administration Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM), organized a Leadership Camp for students in batch 85. The event took place on June 17, 2025, at Dolandeso Boro, located in Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. Designed to enhance students’ soft skills, the Leadership Camp focused on cultivating collaborative, creative, and reflective leadership skills nurtured not only in the classroom but also through contextual and transformative field experiences.

The event began with a welcoming session and orientation held in the lobby of the MBA FEB UGM campus before departure. Dr. Rocky Adiguna, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., as the Board of Directors of MBA FEB UGM, delivered an inspiring message about the significance of this experience in each student’s life journey. “This leadership camp will become a memory, five or ten years from now, you’ll remember these moments you shared during your master’s program”, he remarked.

Echoing this spirit, Mohammad Genta, an instructor from Eureka Mahardhika Management Consultant & Trainer, provided technical guidance and motivational insights to the participants. He emphasized that discipline and initiative are core reflections of responsible leadership, especially in time management.“Leadership is reflected in your ability to manage time. Hopefully, you’ll demonstrate maturity and independence throughout this camp,” he said. He also reminded participants to maintain a constructive and positive atmosphere throughout the event.

Upon arriving at the venue, participants engaged in a series of activities designed to explore leadership values through interactive and participatory approaches. These included challenge simulations, group discussions, and a creative expression segment titled “MM Hits”, a performance stage that showcased the students’ diverse talents and celebrated collaborative efforts. Dr. Rocky once again encouraged students with the message “Do your best, and let your wildest creative imagination shine”, underscoring the importance of bold self-expression combined with responsibility as aspiring leaders.

To officially open the event, Dr. Rocky symbolically raised the camp flag, marking the beginning of a new adventure for the participants, not only in terms of training but also as a moment to strengthen solidarity, build self-confidence, and foster empathy among students.

Set amidst the natural rural surroundings and supported by an intensive program, the Leadership Camp challenged participants to step out of their comfort zones, explore their potential, and strengthen their character as future leaders. Through this initiative, MBA FEB UGM reaffirms the vital role of character education in developing adaptive, authentic leaders those prepared to face real-world challenges with a spirit of collaboration and a clear, forward-looking vision.
