The Master of Management Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (MM FEB UGM), again invited a highly qualified speaker, Yudi Hidayat, Commissioner of KPPU-RI, to the Executive Series which took place online for all MM FEB UGM students, 6/11/2020 .
The activity began with Dr. Eko Suwardi, M.Sc., the Dean of FEB UGM, who thanked all parties who supported this event which meant they could meet online with Yudi Hidayat from KPPU-RI while inviting students to listen to what business people should do. “Will businessmen shut others down—or have to rotate with others to form a cartel? This should not be what’s happening,” said Eko. “It is an honor for MM FEB UGM to be joined by this prominent figure virtually and for him to be willing to share experiences and also talk about how business people complain about competition because some of our students are already business people and others, God willing, will also be business people in the future,” he continued.
The event was followed by remarks given by T. Hani Handoko, M.B.A., Ph.D., Head of the MM FEB UGM Yogyakarta Campus Study Program, who, at the same time, presented souvenirs as an expression of his deepest gratitude and appreciation for Yudi Hidayat and all his colleagues from KKPU. “The first souvenir is a plaque as a sign that you have shared knowledge at MM FEB UGM. And the second souvenir is a necktie as a symbol of how, by being here with us, you have become a member of the wider MM FEB UGM family. And the third souvenir is a set of Business Case Studies books, as an expression of our appreciation because these books reflect our commitment to marrying science and practice,” said Hani.
Before the presentation was started, the moderator, Bayu Sutikno, Ph.D., Deputy Head of Academic Affairs, introduced the speaker Yudi Hidayat and briefly described his profile. Then, in his presentation, which was the main event, Yudi explained about the application of business competition law in Indonesia, compliance with business competition law, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the business world, and various explanations of articles and case studies up to KPPU’s duties in Indonesia. The event ended with a question and answer session with all the students. (Public Relations; Dwi / Photo; Irvan).
