The Master of Management Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (MM FEB UGM) has succeeded in organizing the Executive Series again by inviting well-known alumni who were asked to attend expressly in order to share their knowledge and success with MM FEB UGM students. On this occasion, the Executive Series presented Destiawan Soewardjono, M.B.A (President Director of PT Waskita Karya).
Dr. Eko Suwardi, M.Sc., Dean of FEB UGM, opened the event and welcomed the participants. Eko expressed his pride that the speaker invited for this Executive Series event was an MM FEB UGM alumnus was also extraordinary. Graduates of MM FEB UGM know that the institution has been accredited by AACSB International, and that it is the best program in Indonesia and among the leading institutions in Southeast Asia according to Global MBA QS Ranking. “FEB and MM FEB UGM are the backbone of the Asean University Network in the fields of business and economics. This year, we will create a Master in Management Sustainability Program for the ASEAN level, and this is a global collaboration between FEB UGM, MM FEB UGM, and the University of Agder in Norway and has the full support of the Norwegian government.
Before starting the main session, T. Hani Handoko, M.B.A., Ph.D., Head of the MM FEB UGM Yogyakarta Campus Study Program, presented souvenirs to the speakers. This Executive Series was moderated by Rangga Almahendra, an alumni and lecturer at MM FEB UGM who also presented a short profile of the speaker Destiawan Soewardjono, M.B.A.
In his presentation, Destiawan expressed his hope that students who are currently studying at university will be active after they become alumni and will continue to actively support their alma mater so that it is better and more active in supporting the development of the Indonesian government. “The world of construction cannot be separated from disruption, therefore the digital transformation at Waskita Karya has also been very rapid and continuing. This digital transformation is sorely needed and also creates very significant efficiencies in the construction business process,” he said. “With the current digitalization of its construction business that Waskita Karya is carrying out, we can see something that can make comprehensive decisions more quickly”, he continued. “This is not only in the main business process. The digitalization that is being promoted by Waskita Karya also touches upon how to learn, share knowledge, and engage in coaching.
