Taking the theme “Riding the Wave: How TASPEN Innovative and Thrive through Crisis, ” MBA FEB UGM Study Program held the Executive Series event again. Steve Kosasih as CEO of PT. Taspen and alumni of FEB UGM, this time shared his experiences with students at MM FEB UGM (18/2/2022).
It started with remarks from the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Didi Achjari, M.Com. “This time, we are continuing the tradition of holding the Executive Series for the umpteenth time with an exciting theme”. “We are grateful to Mr. Steve Kosasih, who is willing to take the time between his extraordinary crowded schedule; there are many things that need to be done but are still concerned with his campus. The hope is that we can share knowledge and experiences so that they can provide insight to their juniors,” continued Didi.
As a tribute to the speaker, Director of MM FEB UGM Jakarta Campus, Prof. Eduardus Tandelilin handed over an E-certificate to Steve Kosasih for his dedication as an alumnus at this Executive Series event. “This is part of our appreciation to Mas Steve as a symbol and a sign of our love. Hopefully, we can accept this and share it with our students,” he concluded.
Director of the MM FEB UGM Yogyakarta Campus, Amin Wibowo, Ph.D., who at the same time as Moderator, briefly read the curriculum vitae of Steve Kosasih. “He was selected by SWA Magazine several times as the top 5 of the Best CFO since 2010 and in 2018 won the SWA Indonesia Best CFO Award. In 2022, he will serve as the President Director of Taspen for the second time.”
Steve Kosasih began to share information about Taspen; there are vision, mission, history, and products offered. Steve revealed Taspen grew during the pandemic that triggered a crisis in the Indonesian economy and even the world. This pandemic also impacts service constraints for participants (ASN & Pensioners). Taspen has the answer to the existing challenges, namely choosing to change or become extinct while being friendly with uncertainty to welcome various challenges in the future.
Steve also advised that as business people, we must be familiar with uncertainty. Business is uncertain, and how a businessman makes it more stable. If you want to find a more significant profit, you have to be willing to take big risks. The system in the company also affects the progress and performance of the company when facing challenges. “At Taspen, all positions and all branches will be ranked. That way, all will be competitive competition. The bottom five will definitely be replaced, and the top five will get a reward,” he continued.
“What we need is no longer the knowledge of business administration like in the past, because today’s trend is uncertain. What happens today or tomorrow can change; crises can hit us anytime. Learn how to become an entrepreneur because, in the end, you are responsible for your profit and cash flow”, said Steve. The event ended with a question and answer session regarding Taspen’s financial management during the pandemic, improving the performance of Taspen employees, regenerating Taspen employees, and tips and tricks on managing the company and family.
