Graduation Ceremony Period of January 2022: MM FEB UGM Alumni Involve and Respond to Global Challenges

Beginning 2022, MM FEB UGM Study Program held an online graduation ceremony for January 2022 graduates via Zoom (26/01/2022).

Director of MM FEB UGM Study Program, Jakarta Campus, Prof. Eduardus Tandelilin, Ph.D., delivered his remarks and the Graduation Report, followed by reading out the Cumlaude graduates for this period. “To my friends who graduated this morning, congratulations and very proud.” The number of graduates for January 2022 consisted of 84 from Yogyakarta Campus and 111 from the Jakarta Campus. Annisa Deni Istina achieved the best graduate in this period with a GPA of 3.99 from MM FEB UGM Jakarta Campus.

Annisa Deni Istina as a representative of the graduates, expressed her gratitude to the board of directors, lecturers, and all the academic community of MM FEB UGM who have served, facilitated, and supported the graduates. “Perhaps it never occurred to us that we would be at this point, especially if there were difficulties with assignment deadlines, exam materials, or a laptop that suddenly broke while writing a thesis. Moreover, the pandemic has changed all lifelines, including lectures. We have gone through these difficulties and lead to today”, he said. Annisa added her speech by citing the vision of MM FEB UGM. “Let me quote the vision of MM FEB UGM, namely To be the leading graduate business school in Indonesia in advancing knowledge of business and promoting sustainable and ethical business practices by rising to the international challenges. During this pandemic, the vision of MM FEB UGM is becoming more relevant and important for us to instill. The challenges we face today come from the scope of our country and the global scope. Therefore, as the academic community of MM FEB UGM, we are required to be individuals who are broad-minded and able to adapt to face all global challenges while still prioritizing ethics in our daily practice,” he said. “Today, we have closed a chapter in our life journey, but for sure, this is not the last chapter in our book of life because there are still many other chapters that we will write with various challenges in our lives going forward,” he added.

Bayu Sutikno., Ph.D., Deputy Dean of FEB UGM, congratulated the 195 graduates. “It is an honor for me and FEB UGM, together with these great alumni. MM FEB UGM is one of 14 study programs at FEB UGM and has always been at the forefront (flagship). Not only in Indonesia but also on the international stage as evidenced by MM FEB UGM is included in the QS MBA University Ranking ranked 74th for Entrepreneurship and Alumni Outcomes,” he said. “This cannot be separated from the role of all academics, including students and alumni. This ranking is not just about the main goal but reflects the shared process, so today’s first message is the beginning of a new book with more and better chapters. Second, alumni play a major role in the progress of MM, FEB, and UGM. Friends’ achievements are seen not only during college but after college,” he continued. This certificate is valid for life, so take good care of it, and the campus is always open for alumni to come back again. Bayu closed his speech by saying, “Just like what is going viral, “It is your dream, right? This is your dream, enjoy a day, but tomorrow work harder, be greater and have a tremendous impact on Indonesia,” he said. (Humas; Radiani/Photo; Irvan).
