Master of Business Administration Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM) Yogyakarta Campus, once again held its Executive Series on Friday, February 21, 2025. The event took place at the Sukadji Ranuwihardjo Auditorium, MBA FEB UGM, featuring the theme “Sustainable Finance in the Tourism Industry.” The session welcomed I. G. N. Agung Dwi Wira Negara, Corporate Finance Group Head at InJourney (PT. Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia), as the keynote speaker, moderated by Rijadh Djatu Winardi, Ph.D.
Rocky Adiguna, Ph.D., a Board of Director at MBA FEB UGM, appreciated the event as a valuable learning platform. In his opening remarks, he stated, “We are once again highlighting sustainability, but this time from the perspective of corporate finance. Sustainable finance in Indonesia, particularly in the tourism industry, has become an attractive subject,” he emphasized.
During his presentation, I. G. N. Agung Dwi Wira Negara elaborated on InJourney’s role in Indonesia’s tourism sector, particularly in the realm of sustainable finance. He explained how InJourney implements green financing, invests in eco-friendly tourism, and fosters public-private partnerships to promote sustainable industry growth.
The aviation and tourism industries are committed to rapidly advancing the tourism sector, aiming to establish a competitive tourism industry within the next decade, particularly in Southeast Asia. “To achieve this goal, strong collaboration among tourism and aviation industry players is essential,” Agung stated.
InJourney carries a dual function: as a tourism orchestrator and as a corporate entity. Agung explained that the company is expected to continuously make positive contributions to the nation, from economic growth to environmental support and job creation.
He also expressed his hope that the event would serve as a valuable platform for exchanging insights and strengthening support networks. “I hope that today, we can share knowledge and exchange ideas. We still need support and information to further improve our efforts,” he added.
