The Master of Business Administration Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM), supported the Book Reading Session with Dr. Rocky Adiguna, author of Knowledge, Being & Time. The event, organized by the MBA Student Association (MBA SA), was held on October 30, 2025, at the MBA FEB UGM Library in a hybrid format. It was attended by MBA FEB UGM students, faculty members, and the general public.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Rocky welcomed the participants by saying, “Welcome, everyone, to the MBA UGM library. This place often becomes a photo spot, but I hope it can also become a place for discussion. Ironically, we have such a great space, yet the enthusiasm for reading is still quite low — that’s one of the reasons we organized this session.”
Through this activity, participants were not only invited to read but also to explore and reflect on the contents of the book directly with its author. Both onsite and online participants actively engaged in discussions, sharing insights on the philosophical and practical themes presented in the book.
One of the participants, Yoga, a student from the MBA FEB UGM cohort 86, shared his impressions of the event: “This book reading event was really exciting and insightful. We explored many fascinating chapters filled with meaning and valuable lessons that truly broadened our perspective. I hope this kind of activity continues regularly so we can collectively rekindle our passion for reading. It was awesome,” said Yoga.
With high enthusiasm and active participation from all attendees, the Book Reading Session of Knowledge, Being & Time with Dr. Rocky Adiguna successfully created a productive and reflective dialogue. The strong engagement of students and faculty, along with institutional support, demonstrated a shared commitment to fostering a culture of critical thinking and enriching intellectual discourse within the MBA FEB UGM community.
