International Guest Lecture: Global Collaboration Discusses Climate Resilience

Master of Business Administration Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM), held an International Guest Lecture titled “Climate Change & Climate Adaptation: How to Become Resilient?” on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Faculty Meeting Room, 5th Floor, MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta.

The event featured keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Kai Michael Griese from the University of Applied Sciences in Osnabrück, Germany, and was moderated by Dr. Widya Paramita, S.E., M.Sc., a lecturer at FEB UGM.

The event was officially opened by Prof. Amin Wibowo, M.B.A., Ph.D., Director of MBA FEB UGM. In his opening remarks, he expressed appreciation for Prof. Griese’s presence and the enthusiasm of the participants, while also extending his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event.

During the main session, Prof. Griese addressed the pressing challenges of climate change and how adaptive strategies can be developed to build resilience across sectors. He emphasized the importance of collaborative approaches involving academics, practitioners, and policymakers in responding to the increasingly urgent global climate crisis.

The discussion was dynamic, enriched by reflective questions from MBA students, particularly regarding how the business sector can play a strategic role in promoting sustainability. This event served as a cross-cultural and interdisciplinary learning platform and reinforced MBA FEB UGM’s commitment to providing a world-class and contextually relevant academic experience.
