The Master of Business Administration Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM) officially held its New Student Orientation on Friday (February 6). Taking place at the Sukadji Ranuwihardjo Auditorium, the event was designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the program’s vision, mission, and academic culture to new Pre-MBA/IMBA 88 and Pre-SEMBA 47 students.
This intake, MBA FEB UGM welcomed a total of 114 new students who are ready to begin their academic journey. These students are enrolled across three flagship program categories:
- MBA Regular (MBA) and International MBA (IMBA): 88 students
- Senior Executive MBA (SEMBA): 26 students
The orientation was officially opened by Prof. Amin Wibowo, Ph.D., Director of MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta. In his remarks, he expressed his pride and extended a warm welcome to all students to one of Indonesia’s leading business schools. He emphasized that becoming part of MBA FEB UGM is an achievement in itself, but maintaining integrity is a far greater responsibility.
“There is no such thing as a successful leader without integrity, and this is something we strongly emphasize within this institution,” he stated. He highlighted that integrity is not merely an added value, but a fundamental foundation for becoming a successful and respected leader in the professional world.
In line with this vision, Luluk Lusiantoro, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., Deputy Director of MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta, outlined the program’s strategic focus on developing adaptive leaders. She explained that the institution’s core mission is nurturing future-ready leaders, where leadership serves as a key characteristic that every student must develop.
“Once again, we aim to nurture future-ready leaders. Leadership is the core characteristic we seek to build. We also strive to develop leaders who uphold integrity and understand sustainability issues, as these are central to our vision and mission,” she added. She further emphasized that future leaders must not only demonstrate integrity but also possess a deep understanding of sustainability issues, which have become integral to MBA FEB UGM’s global outlook.
The orientation also featured sessions introducing the latest curriculum, academic information systems, and various international collaboration opportunities available to students throughout their studies. Through this orientation, new students are expected to begin their academic journey with a strong commitment to actively contribute, both within the campus environment and in the broader community after graduation.
