MBA FEB UGM Jakarta Campus Elevates Financial Capabilities of Non-Finance Managers at PT Inhutani 1

Yogyakarta – May 20, 2026

The Executive Development Program of MBA FEB UGM Kampus Jakarta successfully held a Finance for Non-Finance Manager Training for PT Inhutani 1 on May 19–20, 2026, at the MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta Campus. This training was attended by 26 participants consisting of Senior Staff, Assistant Managers, Managers, Division Heads, and Department Heads from various operational areas of PT Inhutani 1 in Indonesia.

The training was held in response to existing needs in the field, where non-financial managers are required to be able to read, analyze, and utilize financial information in day-to-day business decision-making. Throughout the training, participants were equipped with an in-depth understanding of the three main financial statements, analysis of red flags and hidden opportunities in real company financial reports, and the preparation of Business Proposals & Financial Justifications for both CapEx and OpEx needs. Participants were also guided to understand the concepts of Economic Profit (EVA®) and ROIC, as well as how to assess investment feasibility using NPV, IRR, and Payback Period instruments.

One of the most anticipated sessions was the Business Simulation Game, namely “You Run the Company.” In this session, participants directly simulated managerial decision-making under specific business conditions, concluding with a presentation of simulation results by each team.

The training facilitators were outstanding MBA FEB UGM faculty members with strong academic and practical track records in finance and accounting, including Prof. Indra Wijaya Kusuma, Ph.D., MBA; Arizona Mustikarini, Ph.D., CA.; Prof. Eduardus Tandelilin, Ph.D., MBA; and I Wayan Nuka Lantara, Ph.D., CFP. The learning methods employed combined interactive lectures, real company case studies, group discussions, and business simulations which made the learning process not only informative, but also highly applicable.

A number of participants expressed their appreciation directly, among them praising the facilitators’ ability to deliver case studies and foster a lively and enjoyable classroom atmosphere. “The venue, committee, and instructors were very professional. I am very proud to be able to study here,” wrote one participant on the evaluation form.

Through this training, it is hoped that it can serve as a starting point for transforming the mindset of PT Inhutani 1’s leaders in managing financial aspects within their respective units. Participants now have a stronger foundation for making more informed business decisions oriented toward value creation for the company.

MBA FEB UGM Jakarta Campus expressed the high appreciation for the trust placed by PT Inhutani 1 and hopes that this collaboration can continue in order to drive the enhancement of Indonesian human resource capabilities.
