MBA FEB UGM Executive Series Explores Oil and Gas Corporate Strategy Amid Sustainability Pressures: Adaptation or Disruption?

The Master of Business Administration Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM) once again held its Executive Series as part of its ongoing effort to enrich students’ strategic insight and leadership perspectives. This session raised the theme “Oil and Gas Corporate Strategy in the Face of Sustainability Pressures: Adaptation or Disruption?”

This mandatory session for all students was conducted offline on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the Sukadji Ranuwihardjo Auditorium. The event featured Bayu Kusuma Dewanto, Finance Director of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, as the keynote speaker. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Nurul Indarti, Sivilokonom., Cand.Merc., Ph.D., Head of the Department of Management, FEB UGM.

Prof. Amin Wibowo, Ph.D., representing the Board of Directors of MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta Campus, was also present and delivered opening remarks. “May your path ahead become clearer, and may you continue growing into better individuals who contribute not only to yourselves but also to the nation,” he stated.

Through this session, students were expected to gain insights into how large corporations in the oil and gas sector formulate strategies amid increasing sustainability pressures. Students’ enthusiasm was evident through the critical questions raised during the discussion. The session was dynamic and interactive, reflecting MBA students’ strong interest in corporate-level strategic issues.

By bringing in senior practitioners from key national industries, MBA FEB UGM continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering relevant and contextual learning, while also fostering dialogue between academia and industry in addressing sustainability challenges in the era of energy transition.
