Guest Lecture on Business Ethics for Sustainability for MBA/IMBA Cohort 87 Features Practitioner from PT Jasa Raharja

The Master of Business Administration Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM) held a guest lecture for the Business Ethics for Sustainability course for MBA/IMBA Cohort 87. The session featured Harwan Muldidarmawan, Director of Compliance and Risk Management at PT Jasa Raharja, and was moderated by Wuri Handayani, S.E., Ak., M.Si., M.A., Ph.D., a faculty member at FEB UGM. The event took place on March 31, 2026, at the Faculty Meeting Room (FMR), MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta Campus.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Amin Wibowo, Ph.D., representing the Board of Directors of MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta Campus, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Harwan Muldidarmawan. He noted that the presence of industry practitioners in academic settings provides students with valuable first-hand insights into the implementation of Business Ethics for Sustainability in the professional world. “Thank you, Mr. Harwan, for joining us in this Business Ethics for Sustainability session, where students have the opportunity to learn directly from the practices implemented at Jasa Raharja,” he stated.

Prof. Amin further emphasized that collaboration between academia and industry practitioners adds significant value to the learning process at MBA FEB UGM. According to him, the MBA program not only equips students with conceptual understanding but also provides practical perspectives through the involvement of professionals as guest lecturers. This approach enables students to gain a more comprehensive understanding—not only from theoretical frameworks but also from real-world experiences that are not always accessible within the classroom.

During his presentation, Harwan shared insights into the implementation of business ethics and sustainability practices at PT Jasa Raharja. He emphasized that compliance and ethics must go hand in hand to support organizational sustainability. Adherence to regulations, carried out with integrity and supported by effective management strategies, will drive sustainable growth and long-term success.

The session concluded with an interactive discussion, where students actively participated by raising questions, sharing critical perspectives, and exploring various issues related to business ethics and sustainability from both practical and conceptual viewpoints.
