Intan Ayu Kartika, MBA FEB UGM Alumna Appointed as President Director of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah

Universitas Gadjah Mada once again proves the quality of its alumni on the national stage. Intan Ayu Kartika, a graduate of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), has been appointed as the President Director of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). With a strong background in management and marketing, Intan now leads the transformation of this iconic cultural landmark. Her education at UGM not only provided a solid academic foundation but also shaped her leadership character. Her dedication as an MBA FEB UGM alumna is a source of pride for the institution.

An Inspiring Career Journey
Before taking the helm at TMII, Intan accumulated extensive experience across various industries, ranging from fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) to e-commerce. She began her career as a Management Trainee in the FMCG sector and successfully climbed the corporate ladder, holding strategic positions at Danone Indonesia, including Brand Manager, Senior Brand Manager, Marketing Manager, and Brand Director. A significant milestone in her career was her role as Innovation Lead in Manila, Philippines, where she worked for almost three years. Upon returning to Indonesia, she served as the Brand Director for AQUA, Indonesia’s leading bottled water brand.

In early 2022, Intan joined Lazada Indonesia as the Country Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Her expertise in strategic planning, understanding market preferences, and enhancing customer experience was evident in her achievements. Her success in various roles underscores her as a visionary and innovative leader.

Commitment to Society and Women Empowerment
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Intan is known for her caring and inspirational personality. She frequently emphasizes the importance of balancing work and family life. As a woman, Intan is passionate about encouraging other women to express themselves confidently and continue learning so they can thrive in both their careers and personal lives.

Now, as the President Director of TMII, Intan faces the significant challenge of making TMII a relevant and attractive destination for all visitors. With her vision and commitment, she is determined to make TMII a beloved cultural attraction by continuously promoting and preserving Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage and hospitality. Intan is expected to lead TMII towards becoming a tourist destination that brings positive impacts to Indonesian society.
