The Indonesian Embassy in Yangon (KBRI Yangon) held Indonesia Expo 2026 in Yangon, Myanmar, on 30–31 October 2026 under the theme “Bridging Partnerships, Building Prosperity.” On this occasion, MBA FEB UGM Jakarta Campus took part as one of the meeting points for prospective students, parents, and Myanmar business people who wished to learn more about Indonesian higher education.
The Expo aims to serve as a platform for strengthening trade, investment, education, and partnerships between the two countries. A total of 77 exhibition booths were presented, and two business forums were held on the utilization of LNG and on strengthening MSMEs and the creative economy. The opening was attended by Myanmar’s Minister of Commerce, U Htun Ohn; the Chief Minister of Yangon Region, U Aung Naing Thu; the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Republic of Indonesia in Yangon, Novan Ivanhoe Saleh; and leaders of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).
In his remarks, the Chargé d’Affaires affirmed the Embassy’s commitment to expanding market access, connecting business players, and strengthening people-to-people relations through education. KADIN emphasized the “Indonesia Incorporated” approach, namely synergy between government and the business sector. Meanwhile, UMFCCI committed to facilitating business matching, trade missions, and sustainable Indonesia–Myanmar partnerships.

The presence of MBA FEB UGM Jakarta Campus at the Expo is an effort to introduce high-quality, globally competitive management education to Myanmar’s younger generation. Among the seven Indonesian universities participating in the higher education promotion, MBA FEB UGM used the Expo to engage directly with visitors. Visitors were given explanations on new student admissions, tuition fees, and scholarships at MBA FEB UGM. Beyond information on the MBA FEB UGM Master’s (S2) program, information on other study programs at the Bachelor’s (S1) and Doctoral (S3) levels at the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM was also provided to visitors.
Through Indonesia Expo 2026, KBRI Yangon promotes economic and educational diplomacy that produces concrete cooperation, expands opportunities for the community, and strengthens Indonesia–Myanmar bilateral relations. Follow-up to this event is directed toward trade demand, distribution partnerships, and educational cooperation, so that the cooperation built can deliver tangible benefits for both countries.
For MBA FEB UGM, this momentum opens broader opportunities, such as chances for Myanmar students who wish to continue their education in Indonesia, student exchange programs, joint business-related research, and cross-market seminars and case studies. MBA FEB UGM hopes to help build this bridge of cooperation so that its benefits can be felt across generations in both countries, producing business leaders ready to help Indonesia and Myanmar grow together.
