Taking up the theme of “Leadership Innovation: Managing Reborn and Rejuvenation Strategies”, Master in Management Program Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (MM FEB UGM) organized an Executive Series event on May 24, 2019. The event, initiated by Human Resource Club and supported by Master in Management Student Association, presented the President Director of PT. Sarinah (Persero), Gusti Ngurah Putu Sugiarta Yasa. He was an alumnus of MM FEB UGM who were proud to share his success story to students.
T. Hani Handoko, M.B.A., Ph.D. as the Director of MM FEB UGM Yogyakarta welcomed the honorary guest speaker, an alumnus of Batch 6, back to his campus. In addition, Hani Handoko mentioned the purposes of inviting well-known alumni as guest speakers which included Engagement, Innovation and Impact in one connecting unity.
Then, Dr. Eko Suwardi, M.Sc. as the Dean of FEB UGM gave another opening speech. “Today, we will get a valuable opportunity to learn Mr. Ngurah’s success story as the President Director PT. Sarinah which will enrich and motivate us,” he said.
After having escorted by a brief introduction from Rocky Adiguna, Ph.D. as the moderator of the event, Gusti Ngurah Putu Sugiarta Yasa shared some of his actions and their meaning while being a leader in PT. Sarinah as well as his previous company, PT. Pos Indonesia. He explained the challenges and problems relating management and leadership of the company during the 1,5-hour lecture in front of more than 300 students in Auditorium Sukadji Ranuwihardjo.
At the end of the event, the students engaged in a lively question and answer session with the speaker which gave them chance to get giveaway from PT. Sarinah. Group photo sessions ended the event.
