The Master of Business Administration Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM) Yogyakarta Campus celebrated its 38th Anniversary through a series of warm and meaningful activities. Carrying the spirit of care, togetherness, and sustainability, the celebration served as a moment for MBA FEB UGM to reflect on its institutional journey while strengthening its commitment to developing business leaders with integrity and impact.
The series began with a social service activity at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidzul Qur’an Baitussalam, Bantul, on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. The activity was attended by Luluk Lusiantoro, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., Deputy Director of Yogyakarta Campus MBA FEB UGM. The donation was received directly by Ustaz Abidin Aslawi as the representative of the Islamic boarding school. Through this activity, MBA FEB UGM sought to make a tangible contribution to society, particularly in supporting education and religious activities.
The spirit of sharing was also reflected through gift deliveries to the academic community and parties who have supported MBA FEB UGM’s journey. This activity served as a form of appreciation and a reminder that the institution’s achievements are inseparable from the roles of many individuals who have worked, nurtured, and built the MBA FEB UGM environment over time.
On Thursday, 2 July 2026, the anniversary commemoration continued with a Qur’an recitation completion ceremony at the MM FEB UGM Library together with Rumah Sajada Orphanage. In a solemn atmosphere, the activity became an expression of gratitude for MBA FEB UGM’s 38-year journey, as well as a collective prayer for the institution’s blessings, progress, and sustainability in the years ahead.
The peak of the celebration was then held through a thanksgiving gathering and tumpeng ceremony at the Faculty Meeting Room (FMR) of the MBA FEB UGM Building. The event was attended by lecturers, staff, MBA SA 20.0 students, and MBA FEB UGM alumni. The gathering served as a space for strengthening ties among various members of the academic community in a warm and familial atmosphere.
In his remarks, Prof. Amin Wibowo, S.E., M.B.A., Ph.D., Director of Yogyakarta Campus, emphasized that MM UGM exists not only to produce academically excellent graduates, but also leaders who are able to balance profitability, human interests, and environmental concerns. He also reminded attendees that the anniversary is not only about those present today, but also about the predecessors who paved the way for MM UGM’s progress.
“If in our first 38 years we were present to address the shortage of managers, then in the next 30 years we must address the shortage of trusted and integrity-driven leaders,” said Prof. Amin. His message reaffirmed that MBA FEB UGM’s future challenge is not only to adapt to change, but also to preserve the values, character, and spirit of the institution.
Meanwhile, Ir. Lingga Wardana, ST., IPM., MBA., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng., representing KAGAMA MBA FEB UGM, stated that 38 years is proof of MBA FEB UGM’s consistency and dedication in developing business leaders with integrity and global insight. According to him, the alma mater has taught alumni not only about strategy and numbers, but also about ethics and empathy. He also expressed hope that MBA FEB UGM will continue to deliver innovations relevant to the times, including in artificial intelligence, digital leadership, sustainability management, and business innovation.
Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FEB UGM, also conveyed his appreciation for the achievements of FEB UGM and MBA FEB UGM. He highlighted the achievement of the Gadjah Mada International Journal of Business, which has attained Scopus Q2 ranking; the launch of the 12th series of the case book “Call For Developing and Writing International Business Case”; and the ongoing third batch of the ASEAN Master in Sustainability Management, held in collaboration with the University of Agder and supported by the Government of Norway and the ASEAN University Network.
The 38th Anniversary series was further enlivened by the Jumat BeRapi activity, which strengthened togetherness within the MBA FEB UGM environment. This activity became a warm closing to the entire celebration and reflected the spirit of collaboration and kinship continuously upheld by the academic community.
Through its 38th Anniversary celebration, MBA FEB UGM reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its development as an adaptive, relevant, and impactful business education institution. More than merely a celebration of age, the anniversary became a moment to nurture values, strengthen networks, and move forward together toward a more integrity-driven and sustainable future for business education.
