On Saturday, July 25, 2026, MBA FEB UGM Jakarta Campus held a Graduation Ceremony for Certified Financial Planners (CFP) from Batch 40, 41, 42, and 43, as well as a special program for the Ministry of Finance. A total of 100 graduates were officially certified as professional financial planners.
The ceremony was opened by the Director of MBA FEB UGM Jakarta Campus, Prof. Dr. Gugup Kismono, Ph.D., who highlighted the ongoing gap between national financial literacy and financial inclusion. Citing the perspective of economists Modigliani and Brumberg, Prof Gugup noted that a person’s wellbeing is determined by their ability to smooth consumption levels throughout their life cycle.
In this context, a financial planner is a professional who helps individuals design financial strategies from their younger years through retirement. They must also address pressing issues such as rising cost-of-living inflation, low awareness of the importance of emergency funds, and the lack of financial protection within families.
Remarks were also delivered by the Chairman of FPSB Indonesia, Tri Djoko Santoso, CFP, and the CFP Coordinator of MBA UGM, Arief Budiman, M.B.A., CFP, who presented a report on the program’s implementation throughout the training period. According to the report, since 2013 through 2025, the CFP program at MBA UGM has produced a total of 1,535 certified financial planners.
The event continued with a CFP Talk session featuring Heidy Ruswita, Acting Head of the Research Division at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), who shared insights into the current state of the capital markets industry for the newly graduated financial planners.
The graduation ceremony was attended by graduates from a wide range of professional backgrounds and fields. A touching atmosphere filled the room as the committee played a photo documentation snapshot from the training sessions, held over 17 meetings, commemorating the participants’ dedication in setting aside time to return to learning.
“I am very satisfied with the CFP certification process. The instructors were excellent and communicative, and the material was easy to absorb, understand, and apply in both academic and industry settings. Wishing continued success for the CFP program,” said Johanes Hendra Buhokan, one of the CFP graduates.
Through the CFP program, MBA FEB UGM Jakarta Campus remains committed to producing competent and certified professionals in the field of financial planning. This effort is part of a broader response to the growing need for financial planners to help protect Indonesian families from gradual economic hardship.
