Approaching the end of 2021, MM FEB UGM again carried out activities for the online Graduation Release Ceremony for October 2021 Period on Thursday, October 21, 2021.
Director of MM FEB UGM, Yogyakarta Campus, Amin Wibowo, M.B.A., Ph.D. conveyed his pride for the implementation of the graduation ceremony in the October 2021 period as well as submitted graduation reports for the Yogyakarta Campus and Jakarta Campus, followed by reading out the graduates with the Cumlaude predicate. “Congratulations to the Graduates and their families as well as the Scholar students from the public institutions,” he said. The October 2021 period consisted of 108 graduates from the Yogyakarta Campus and 99 from the Jakarta Campus, totaling 207 graduates, and 40 graduates graduated with Cumlaude predicate. The Best Graduate for this period was Renaldy Kumoro from the Jakarta Campus with a G.P.A. of 3.97.
Renaldy Kumoro as a representative of the graduates, expressed his gratitude to all lecturers, MM UGM program staffs and congratulated his fellow graduates. “Today is a happy day for us as graduates, as a result of our efforts and struggles while studying at MM FEB UGM,” he said. For him, maybe most of his students are lucky because, for the first time, MM FEB UGM has held an online teaching and learning process. Learning in this way can provide its challenges for all students, where this method requires extra struggle. “MM FEB UGM lecturing that we have been through, personally for me, provides ample opportunity to find out very reliable and high-quality lecturers, books, and academic facilities that are qualified, as well as professional friends in the class who are very expert in their respective fields,” he added. “MM FEB UGM provides supplies that I can analogize as fuel that makes fire in me as a source of energy to keep burning,” said Renaldy. Renaldy closed his speech with a Javanese proverb that he likes very much, namely “Urip iku sejatine urup,” which means: life should become lit. “Therefore, come on friends, we already have a lot of fuel from machining process at MM FEB UGM, we just need to fire on the motivation in our hearts, so that we become individuals who continue to burn and become a light for those around us. Let us continent be meaningful and useful people for ourselves, our families, others, and our country,” he concluded.
Prof. Didi Achjari, M.Com. as Dean of FEB UGM for the period 2021-2026 also congratulated the graduates who have won an M.B.A. title and congratulations on returning to the real world, which is full of struggles even though it is still amid a pandemic has not ended. Didi added that the challenges ahead are getting more challenging. However, he is optimistic that the graduates can overcome this because what they have learned in college is expected to be sufficient for the graduates to survive. “Hopefully, the graduates will become leaders with integrity, strong character, commitment, full of innovation, able to have a positive influence wherever you are,” he said. “Turn challenges into opportunities, stay firmly rooted in UGM values, Panca Prasetya UGM alumni and uphold the name of our beloved almamater,” said Didi ending the graduation ceremony this time.
