The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM), held its Academix Culture event at the Eco-Tourism Village of Pancoh on August 10, 2024. This event is part of the Leadership Enhancement and Acceleration Program (LEAP), which aims to develop leadership qualities and introduce local culture to all students.
The event was officially opened by the Director of MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta Campus, Prof. Amin Wibowo, Ph.D., at the front yard of the MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta campus. “I hope you all enjoy today’s activities, as this event will introduce you to our local culture while helping you build relationships with your peers during your studies at MBA FEB UGM,” said Prof. Amin.
Academix Culture is a mandatory program for all new students, including those in the International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) program, and is held every semester. The program aims to introduce and explore the heritage and culture of Yogyakarta through enjoyable cultural activities, such as learning batik painting, playing traditional musical instruments, and making traditional crafts.
One participant of Academix Culture from Erasmus University, Netherlands, Ufuk Can Yildirim, shared his experience: “I 100% recommend Academix Culture because we engaged in various unique activities such as walking along the river, learning batik, and also practicing traditional dance. We really get to know like the Indonesian culture for a little bit. So, I really recommend it”
