The Master of Business Administration Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM), held its Graduation Send-Off Ceremony (Malam Pelepasan Calon Wisudawan/MPCW) on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Taking place at the Plaza Courtyard of the MBA FEB UGM Yogyakarta Campus, the event served as a moment of appreciation for the academic dedication of graduating candidates who have successfully completed their studies.

The event was attended by the Vice Dean of FEB UGM, the Board of Directors of MBA FEB UGM, faculty members and academic staff, representatives of MBA UGM alumni, as well as the graduating candidates and their families. In this period, MBA FEB UGM sent off a total of 138 graduating candidates, consisting of 67 students from the Yogyakarta Campus and 71 students from the Jakarta Campus. Among them, 58 graduates achieved cum laude honors.

The program commenced with opening remarks from the master of ceremonies, followed by a report delivered by Prof. Gugup Kismono, M.B.A., Ph.D., a member of the Board of Directors of MBA FEB UGM Jakarta Campus. In his address, he emphasized that earning an MBA degree carries significant responsibility.

“An MBA degree is not merely an addition to one’s name; it is proof that you have been trained to think strategically, make ethical decisions amid constraints, and enter the professional world with wisdom and humility as alumni of UGM.”

Echoing this message, a representative of MBA UGM alumni, Haryo Baskoro Wicaksono, M.B.A., also conveyed his remarks to the graduating candidates.

“A master’s degree is not merely a symbol of status, but an indication of readiness to carry intellectual, professional, and moral responsibilities, as well as to exercise leadership with integrity by upholding the principles of good governance and compliance in every decision-making process,” he stated.

As a form of recognition for academic excellence, MBA FEB UGM announced the graduate who achieved a perfect Grade Point Average (GPA). The Best Graduate distinction was awarded to Yulistika Rahayu, who achieved a GPA of 4.00. In her remarks, she reflected on the academic journey shared with her peers.

“As Nelson Mandela once said, ‘it always seems impossible until it’s done.’ What once felt difficult, today we have accomplished together,” she expressed.

She also encouraged her fellow graduates to use their degree as a bridge to create meaningful impact for society at large.

The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FEB UGM, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., in his remarks, emphasized the important role of alumni for both the alma mater and society.

“The term ‘master’ signifies ‘more,’ meaning that MBA graduates are expected not only to be more knowledgeable, but also wiser and capable of contributing to their families and communities. Do not hesitate to return and contribute to the campus—through ideas, perspectives, and various forms of engagement,” he stated.

The event concluded with a congratulatory session from the leadership and a group photo, symbolizing togetherness and strengthening the sense of community among the MBA FEB UGM academic family. This moment is expected to become a meaningful memory as well as the starting point for graduates to contribute to the nation and society.
