MBA FEB UGM Welcomes International Students, Reinforcing Its Commitment to the Internationalization of Business Education

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), continues to strengthen its international academic environment by welcoming international students for the new semester. The welcoming session, held on Tuesday (February 3), marked an important moment in fostering global knowledge exchange within the campus community.

This semester, a total of five international students have officially joined the student exchange program, consisting of one student from Germany and four students from France. Their presence is expected to enrich classroom discussions and enhance cross-cultural collaboration.

The event was officially opened by Luluk Lusiantoro, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., Deputy Director of the MBA Program at UGM Yogyakarta. In her remarks, she extended a warm welcome to the international students to the city of Yogyakarta. She also encouraged them to immerse themselves in the local community and experience the rich cultural heritage of Yogyakarta, widely known as Indonesia’s “City of Students.”

Furthermore, she emphasized the importance of continuously developing critical thinking skills, highlighting this capability as a key factor that distinguishes human intelligence from the growing sophistication of robots and Artificial Intelligence (AI) today.

“And we need to have critical thinking—that’s what differentiates you from robots these days, with AI,” she stated.

The admission of international students reflects MBA FEB UGM’s ongoing commitment to maintaining globally recognized standards in higher education. Through this initiative, FEB UGM strives to cultivate graduates with an international perspective and strong integrity in the professional business world.
