The Master of Business Administration Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MBA FEB UGM) once again held its Executive Series as part of its commitment to enriching students’ strategic insight and leadership capabilities. This session carried the theme “Building a Winning Culture in the Social Enterprise-Based Ecosystem.”
This mandatory session for all students was conducted in a hybrid format—both online and offline—on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Sukadji Ranuwihardjo Auditorium. The event featured Dr. Zulfikar Alimuddin, Chairman of The New You Institute, as the keynote speaker. The discussion was moderated by Rocky Adiguna, Ph.D., Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada.
The opening remarks were delivered by Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni Affairs. In his speech, he expressed his expectations for the session: “I personally hope that all Master of Management students—both those present in the auditorium and those joining online—can actively engage with Mas Rocky and Mr. Zulf and gain up-to-date insights on the development of the social enterprise ecosystem, which I believe has become one of the driving forces in Indonesia, especially amid the current economic challenges.”
In his presentation, Dr. Zulfikar emphasized that every individual, particularly leaders, has a responsibility to contribute to shaping culture within their respective environments. He noted that within their scope of roles and responsibilities, leaders must demonstrate tangible contributions to the process of cultural development, as this is where leadership is truly tested.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of purpose as the foundation for building engagement. He stressed that purpose determines the level of engagement—when individuals have a clear sense of purpose, their commitment and participation become more meaningful.
Students’ enthusiasm was evident through the critical questions raised during the session. The discussion was dynamic and interactive, reflecting MBA students’ strong interest in leadership development. Through this Executive Series, MBA FEB UGM continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering learning experiences that are relevant to today’s leadership challenges.
